Learning the Piano

The Piano is the only percussive instrument that can emulate a full symphony orchestra. It is also the only instrument that can effectively decipher a full orchestral score. When you watch a symphony orchestra in action, the conductor usually reads a score - it holds the markings of the composer and also contains all the parts of each and every orchestral instrument. The piano can interpret all of these voices - which makes the piano a very versatile instrument!

On the contrary, the Piano can also serve as a soloistic instrument, and a chamber music instrument. Many composers such as Beethoven, Chopin, and Liszt, wrote a variety of repertoire that were designed to show the Piano's soloistic and chamber music capabilities. Have you ever heard of the Triple Concerto by L.V.Beethoven? It is a symphonic masterpiece which showcases three soloists - just magnificent!
