Learning Music History/Theory
When one reads a book, they accustom themselves with the plot and its characters. Similarly in music, we also have characters and plots the composer uses to convey his musical message. Very often, we play music according to the wonderful sounds and tones we are able to make. This would be like reading a book for the sake of reading and not to understanding what is going on!

Music History and Theory training is the core of all types of musical performances. Without this backbone, music would have no meaning, it would in-fact just be a combination of sounds.

Composers write music in sophisticated orders and sequences. These orders (when followed), tells a beautiful harmonic narrative. For example, the composer may want to deviate into another Key to create different colours and effects. Or he/she may want to attribute a certain Key to a Theme, to direct the listener and help them identify the various characters in the music.

To be able to 'Identify' all of these various types of musical messages is the key to being a great musicians. We believe this part of musical training is an absolute necessity for all students.
